Shapes
Desperate last throws of the dice, utter exhaustion, a lucky first time, naivety, plain stupidity, machine protocols, happy accidents, borrowed designs, transference, anger, contempt, fear and control, whimsy, whisky: the causes of things to be shaped one way and not another are all engraved into this one fact – that things exist in an ideal form that could have been something else as well as what they have turned out to be. And that ideal form has not disappeared, but is the potential for détournement (the turning of moribund things into vivid things) of any thing. As well as a decayable object, there is also a changeable shape.
