The deceased was dressed in the costume of a stage pirate. It has been suggested that there were parts of two distinct bodies: one of either sex. However, most interested parties understood that the body was complete, the remains of a male, about 60, so I heard. In the double-corpse version the deceased are both much younger (their ages adding up to about 60) and the plot is more romantic.
